From Awkward to Airy
Although stylish in its day, the original thirty year old custom kitchen had no space to maneuver for my clients who loved to cook and spend time together in their kitchen. The space felt cramped and dark even though the room was large and open to a beautiful backyard.
Relocating the refrigerator into the main work triangle not only improved the function of the kitchen but also created space for a large island, coffee center and lounge area. Sightlines were improved with less obtrusive cabinetry throughout the kitchen, adding to a light and airy feel while helping to bring the outdoors in.
